Electrically driven plasmonic nanocavities for active control of excitonic strong coupling
Single-crystal plasmonic nanostructures having atomically smooth surfaces and ideal crystalline quality open up new opportunities to realize highly confined plasmonic modes with increased quality factors. Demonstrating this on the examples of nanoparticle-on-mirror plasmonic nanocavities and plasmonic gratings, we further develop active functionalities on their basis. Particularly, integrating a semiconductor monolayer into a nanometer gap of a single electrically driven nanocube-on-mirror plasmonic nanocavity, we demonstrate electric control of excitonic strong coupling and electroluminescence.
