Demonstration of integrated and higher-order vortex lasing from perovskite metasurface based on photonic bound states in the continuum

In this research, we demonstrate the integrated vortex lasing based on photonic bound states in the continuum. The gain medium is built of perovskite materials and is arranged into a C6 honeycomb lattice. The topological charge of the observed vortex lasing is 2 with a lasing threshold of 7.82 J/cm2. Detailed theoretical and experimental analyses to confirm the vector vortex lasing. Non-separable lasing states were observed where photons possess one specific OAM state entangled to another specific SAM state. Results from this research should help our understanding about photonic BIC for novel application in integrated optical communication.
