Base-promoted cascade annulation and annulation/carboxylation of α-enolizable phosphoryl substituted ynones and isatins with CO2
A base-catalyzed cascade reaction of isatins and α-enolizable phosphoryl substituted ynones has been developed leading to spiroindolin-2-ones. The reaction is an anion-anionic domino process, where an unprecedented interception of the vinyl anion by the intermediate CO2 was achieved to obtain spiroindolin-2-ones bearing a phosphonoacetate fragment.
