Mie resonance-enhanced spectroscopy using dielectric nanostructures

Dielectric nanostructures with a high refractive index and low optical loss have recently garnered significant attention as alternatives to plasmonic nanostructures. Engineering Mie resonances of these nanostructures from the visible to mid-infrared region allows for highly-sensitive molecular spectroscopies (fluorescence, Raman scattering, and infrared absorption). In this talk, we present our recent progress on field-enhanced spectroscopies using various dielectric nanostructures and their applications in molecular sensing.

Abstract

Dielectric nanostructures with a high refractive index and low optical loss have recently garnered significant attention as alternatives to plasmonic nanostructures. Engineering Mie resonances of these nanostructures from the visible to mid-infrared region allows for highly-sensitive molecular spectroscopies (fluorescence, Raman scattering, and infrared absorption). In this talk, we present our recent progress on field-enhanced spectroscopies using various dielectric nanostructures and their applications in molecular sensing.
