Augusto Salazar Bondy y la inteligencia artificial: filosofía de la liberación en la era digital
This article examines the relevance of Augusto Salazar Bondy’s thought in the context of digital sovereignty in Latin America. It hypothesizes that artificial intelligence, as currently implemented, reproduces dynamics of technological and epistemological dependence similar to those the Peruvian philosopher analyzed in his critique of Latin American philosophical production. To thisend, it draws on his works «Is there a philosophy of our America?» and «Domination and Liberation: An essay on Peruvian political thought.» The concept of digital dependence is introduced to describe how infrastructure, data, and algorithmic models are controlled by the Global North, limiting the region’s technological autonomy. Based on Salazar Bondy’s thought, it analyzes possible strategies to reduce this dependence, emphasizing the construction of technological autonomy based on critical reflection, the integration of specific epistemologies, and the strengthening of knowledge production in the region.
