Predicting the risks of debut and relapse of drug use: assessment checklist and matrix for building an individual preventive route.

Currently, the need for methods of assessing the behavior of individuals who are potential risk groups for drug use is rapidly increasing. The strategy of preventing a return to the use of psychoactive substances or to destructive behavior is interconnected with numerous programs for the prevention of drug addiction and drug dependence. The aim of the study was to create and use a semi-formalized diagnostic technique that allows predicting the risks of debut or relapse of drug addiction. According to the authors, the algorithmization of the processes of analyzing the risks of debut or relapse of drug use in the form of a diagnostic technique formalizes approaches and sets requirements for the formation of an assessment Checklist. As a result of assessing the criteria according to the Checklist, an individual plan of the preventive route is calculated in accordance with the matrix. The use of the checklist and matrix allows developing a personalized strategy for a specific patient. The experience of using the presented methodology should be constantly generalized, improved, possibly specialized for specific individual private tasks, with the admission of periodic clarification of the assessment indicators. The possibility of providing doctors, psychologists and other specialists with standardized, scientifically based approaches to diagnostics, treatment and prevention of relapses in drug addictions will set minimum standards for the quality of care, optimize their work. The proposed methodology is one of the few experiences in a set of measures (deep interviews, psychological diagnostics and analysis of the social context) aimed at early identification of a «breakdown» of a drug user who is between the assessment of the risk level, factors affecting the depletion of the reserve and the assessment of the potential of this addiction.
