Development status of spaceborne infrared sensors
Spaceborne infrared sensors, as core components of space remote sensing systems, play an irreplaceable role in meteorological prediction, military reconnaissance, environmental monitoring, and deep-space exploration. This paper focuses on the technological progress in Europe, the United States, Japan, and other regions, systematically sort out their technical routes, typical payloads, and engineering practices. By examining key technical indicators such as materials, cooling systems, and integration, this paper analyzes their development strategies and bottlenecks and summarizes the international competitive landscape based on public literature and empirical data. Research shows that the United States dominates the field due to its first-mover advantage and full industrial chain collaboration, while Europe achieves technological breakthroughs through multinational joint research and development. Emerging space nations like Japan and India are accelerating their layouts in low-cost commercialization. In the future, quantum dot materials, on-chip intelligent processing, and multi-spectral collaborative detection will be the key directions for technological iteration.
