Multi-Frequency Cooperation Strategy for Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) Networks
The field of integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) has attracted a lot of attention due to its potential to provide both low-altitude communication and sensing services. One of the challenges for ISAC network implementation is frequency deployment. Although allocating dedicated frequency bands for both services appears to be a feasible solution to avoid the interference issue, it may lead to frequency resource waste when there is no active sensing service request. Therefore, efficient coordination of limited frequency resources between communication and sensing is necessary. In this paper, we propose a multi-frequency band switching cooperation ISAC (MBSw-ISAC) solution to allocate multiple frequency bands and enable band-switching capability between communication and sensing services. To this end, we formulate an optimization problem to minimize the communication delay with the constraint of sensing demand among multiple frequency bands. By solving the optimization problem, we present a depth-first-search-based algorithm to obtain the corresponding optimal MBSw-ISAC solution. Numerical results are presented to demonstrate the potential of the proposed MBSw-ISAC solution.
