Evaluating the Carbon Reduction Potential of Grid-Connected Wind-Solar-Storage-Electrolytic Aluminum Industrial Park

Electrolytic aluminum industrial park integrated the renewable energy and energy storage system (ESS), i.e., wind-solar-storage-electrolytic aluminum industrial park in this study, possesses promising carbon reduction potential owing to its operation flexibility. To evaluate the d carbon reduction potential accurately, this study focuses on the grid-connected wind-solar-storage-electrolytic aluminum industrial park and a carbon reduction potential evaluation method is proposed. Firstly, the system description and the overall evaluation framework of wind-solar-storage-electrolytic aluminum industrial park are illustrated. Secondly, the power characteristic models and carbon emission characteristic for wind-solar-storage-electrolytic aluminum industrial park are established, and three key indexes are presented for carbon emissions qualification. Then, the economic-oriented benchmark optimization model is established as the benchmark, while the carbon emission-oriented optimization model is developed for evaluating the carbon reduction potential of wind-solar-storage-electrolytic aluminum industrial park. Finally, the actual data in Yunnan Province is adopted for case studies, from numerical analysis we can draw that, the proposed evaluation method could demonstrate the carbon reduction capability of wind-solar-storage-electrolytic aluminum industrial park effectively.
