Performance Study of High Power IGBT Thermal Management System Based on Bidirectional Gradual Honeycomb Structure
In this paper, we illustrate three IGBT module thermal management systems with bionic flow channel, including traditional S-shaped, unidirectional gradual honeycomb (UGH) and bidirectional gradual honeycomb (BGH) structures. The maximum IGBT module temperature of UGH and BGH structures are respectively reduced by 43.37% and 42.69% compared to that of the S-shaped structure when the cooling liquid volume ratio is 50% (EG: water = 1:1) and the inlet velocity is 0.6 m/s based on the same IGBT module power loss. Moreover, the temperature distribution uniformity of IGBT module on BGH structure is much better, which provides a reference for keeping the best working temperature range and uniform thermal distribution of power electronic devices.
