Preliminary Experimental Studies of an Energy Management System in a DC Microgrid

The article presents selected, preliminary experimental results of the energy management system developed for the unique, large scale industrial DC microgrid demonstrator. The architecture of the power and control-measurement circuits of the DC microgrid with a modular topology is presented. The assumptions for the control algorithm in the selected strategy, corresponding to a typical prosumer installation consisting of PV power plant connected to the low voltage AC grid 3×400V, 50Hz with an auxiliary energy storage are discussed. Then, selected results of experimental studies are presented, the aim of which was to present the operational capabilities of the industrial DC microgrid in relation to the local AC microgrid.
