Response Strategy and Configuration Methodology for Energy Storage Systems Participating in Primary Frequency Regulation in Power Systems
A response strategy and capacity configuration method using energy storage devices to participate in the primary frequency regulation of the system is proposed to address the problem of decreased frequency stability after large-scale new energy replaces conventional units in the new power system scenario. By making the active power output of the energy storage device during the primary frequency regulation process close to the electromagnetic power of the replaced conventional unit, the system frequency stability is maintained at a level equivalent to that before the replacement of the conventional unit. Simulation verification is carried out in an actual power system with high penetration rate of new energy.
