An AI-VR Integrated Car Racing Simulation with Procedural Content Generation for Immersive and Adaptive Gameplay
This paper presents the development of a next-generation car racing simulation game that integrates Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), and Procedural Content Generation (PCG) to deliver an immersive, adaptive, and highly dynamic gaming experience. The proposed system employs AI behavior models to create intelligent, context-aware opponents that adapt in real-time to player performance, offering a per-sonalized challenge to users with varying skill levels. Virtual reality technology, developed on the Oculus SDK, offers more engaging gameplay through an immersive first-person cockpit experience with full 360-degree awareness of the environment, natural gestures, and realistic physics. PCG also enables infinite variations in tracks and environmental dynamics such as weather and terrain features such that no two races are alike. The game is developed based on Unreal Engine with integrated tools such as Gaea for terrain generation and Blender for asset modeling. Testing demonstrates the system to deliver a responsive and engaging experience with high visual fidelity and performance in VR. This paper aims to present a blueprint for future AI-VR interactive systems for the simulation gaming industry.
