Electromagnetic Performance Simulation and Structural Optimization Design of Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Motor

In order to improve the long-term stability of axial flux motor in complex environment the multi-dimensional optimization design research was carried out with the motor torque and peak value as the comprehensive optimization objectives. Firstly, the key design geometric parameters affecting motor torque and power were analyzed theoretically, and the mechanism of action of stator inner and outer diameter on motor torque and power density was discussed. Then, Maxwell software was used to build a three-dimensional model of electromagnetic part of the motor, and parametric scanning was carried out to calculate the motor torque and power under different parameter combinations. Thus, the performance of the motor is quantitatively analyzed and evaluated to determine the optimization range of the inner and outer diameter near the target torque. The optimal design parameters conforming to the constraints are determined based on the optimal distribution region of the stator's inner and outer diameters in the multidimensional design space. Finally, in order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed optimization method, the motor is tested under typical working conditions, and the measured motor torque and power values are compared with the simulation results. The results show that the optimization method effectively improves the design accuracy of the motor, reducing the inner diameter of the stator from 50 mm to 45 mm, and the outer diameter from 75 mm to 74 mm. At the same time, the output power of the axial flux permanent magnet motor is increased by 10.28%, the stability is increased by 38.89% and the efficiency is increased to 86.03%. This study provides a new methodology and technical path for the optimal design of axial flux motors.
