The Ciorna River – the creator of the great gorge: analysis of the curent state
The Ciorna River, a tributary of the Dniester, plays a crucial role in the local ecosystem and the communities of Șoldănești and Rezina districts. This study examines the ecological importance of the river, water quality, and contributing pollution factors. Chemical analyses reveal variations in pH and dissolved oxygen along the river's course, highlighting the impact of human activities. The biodiversity of the Ciorna River is threatened by pollution from agriculture, industry, and improper waste management. The study emphasizes the need for ecological protection measures to preserve this valuable ecosystem.
