La enseñanza del inglés en el aula: implicaciones pedagógicas y académicas
This article addresses the importance of teaching English in the classroom and its pedagogical and academic implications. Through a documentary approach, it analyzes how teaching methods have evolved from traditional models focused on memorization to communicative and integrated approaches such as CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning). The results show that these methodologies promote meaningful learning, the acquisition of cognitive and communicative skills, and student motivation. Teacher preparation and ongoing professional development are identified as key factors for effective English teaching, while a lack of resources and limited exposure to the language restricts its potential benefits. Furthermore, English proficiency is linked to improved academic performance, access to global information, and the holistic development of students, highlighting its role as a tool for inclusion and educational mobility. However, structural challenges remain, necessitating inclusive educational policies and innovative pedagogical strategies. In summary, teaching English in the classroom not only strengthens linguistic skills but also enhances cognitive, social, and academic competencies, emphasizing the need for an integrated approach that combines teacher training, adequate resources, and student motivation to achieve sustainable and equitable outcomes.
