Les psychoses auto immunes
Psychotic disorders are frequent and disabling. Their clinical course is sometimes complicated by neurological, biological, or even epidemiological factors, raising the possibility of autoimmune mechanisms underlying certain psychoses and offering new therapeutic approaches. Possible curable organic etiologies are emerging, and autoimmune psychoses are becoming better identified, with new diagnostic criteria being proposed that are still being validated. In this paper, we present an update on this new neuropsychiatric entity, including its clinico-radiological and biological aspects, as well as the main non-degenerative neurological pathologies that can lead to psychiatric disorders. Three actual clinical and aetiological vignettes will support this review of the literature, which concerns a completely new pathological concept that brings together two major medical specialties long thought to be separated: psychiatry and neurology.
