GESTÃO DE PROCESSOS NA PERÍCIA CRIMINAL: DESAFIOS E ESTRATÉGIAS NA PRODUÇÃO DE LAUDOS DE CRIMES DE TRÂNSITO
ABSTRACT Forensic science plays a key role in the justice system, with the expert report as its main product, essential for police investigations and judicial proceedings. However, studies on the efficiency and timeliness of report delivery remain incipient. This article analyzes the production of Forensic Reports on Traffic Accidents with Fatal Victims (ATVF) in the Specialized Section of Traffic Crime Forensics (SECTRAN), in Goiás, Brazil, during 2022 and 2023, aiming to identify performance patterns, response times, and bottlenecks in the reporting process. The research is applied, quantitative, and descriptive in nature, based on documentary data extracted from the Criminalistics Information System (ODIN) and subjected to descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that although the unit’s overall productivity is high, compliance with the legal deadline established in the Brazilian Code of Criminal Procedure remains limited, especially in more complex examinations. Bottlenecks related to workflow management were identified, and strategies for process optimization were proposed, such as standardization of procedures, automation of administrative steps, use of specific performance indicators, and visual management tools. It is concluded that the adoption of process management practices can contribute to greater efficiency, predictability, and credibility of forensic activity, strengthening society’s trust in the justice system. Keywords: forensic science; process management; expert reports; traffic crimes; efficiency.
