Single-point diamond turning for metasurface fabrication
With subwavelength structures as their key constituents, optical metasurfaces have found broad applications ranging from AR/VR headsets to biomedical sensors. The transition from theoretical design to real-world applications of these devices has relied predominantly on lithography-based fabrication techniques. Here, we introduce single-point diamond turning as a direct fabrication method for metasurfaces and present our work on fabricating nanoscale patterns using this technique. We believe this approach opens new possibilities for mass production and enables the creation of novel devices that are difficult or cannot be realized with current nanofabrication techniques.
