Engineering metal halide perovskite nanocrystals for ultra-bright and efficient next-generation displays
Metal halide perovskites are promising materials for next-generation displays due to their exceptional color purity and outstanding optoelectronic properties. This study explores advanced material synthesis and device engineering strategies to enhance the external quantum efficiency, operational stability, and charge transport characteristics of perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs) by utilizing perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs). Key advancements include the incorporation of guanidinium cations into formamidinium lead bromide (FAPbBr3) PNCs with bromide-enriched molecular overcoating, core/shell PNC designs, and the development of hybrid tandem PeLEDs. Additionally, the use of surface-functionalized conjugated molecular multipods and a novel perovskite-organic solid solution structure enables deep-blue emission high external quantum efficiency. These innovations provide a comprehensive framework for improving PeLED performance and advancing high-efficiency perovskite-based display technologies.
