Impact of Growing Temperatures on the Composition, Morphology, and Structural Characteristics of Graphite‐Based Core‐Shells and Their Applications

Abstract This study employed thermal chemical vapor deposition to synthesize nickel–graphite (Ni–GP) core‐shells (CSs). The impact of growth temperature on the structural and electrical properties of Ni–GP CSs was examined. The growth temperature was increased to 800 and 1100 °C, respectively. The features of Ni–GP CSs, such as the morphology, structure, composition, and electrical properties, were investigated at different growing temperatures. The maximum power conversion efficiency of approximately 7.5% ( J sc : 14.89 mA/cm 2 ; V oc : 0.75 V; FF: 66%) was achieved for the solar cells. Subsequently, the optimized Ni–GP CSs were integrated as electrodes in a pseudo‐supercapacitor device. Electrochemical measurements were performed using galvanostatic charge–discharge and cyclic voltammetry. At a current density of 1 A/g, the Ni–GP composite achieved a specific capacitance of approximately 244.22 F g −1 and maintained over 14.7% of its capacitance at higher current densities.
