Pengaruh FDR, BOPO, Inflasi, dan Pertumbuhan Ekonomi terhadap Profitabilitas (ROA) Bank Muamalat Tahun 2009-2024

Abstract. The banking sector plays a crucial role in driving Indonesia’s economic growth. Profitability is a key indicator of bank performance, commonly reflected in the Return on Assets (ROA) ratio. Bank Muamalat, as the pioneer of Islamic banking in Indonesia, has faced profitability challenges, indicated by its persistently low ROA ranging between 0% and 0.5% over the past 15 years, placing it in the less healthy category. This study aims to analyze the effect of internal factors such as the Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) and Operating Expenses to Operating Income (BOPO), as well as external factors including inflation and economic growth, on the ROA of Bank Muamalat during the period 2009–2024. The research employs a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis and secondary data sourced from Bank Indonesia, Statistics Indonesia, and Bank Muamalat’s financial reports. The findings show that FDR and economic growth have no significant effect on ROA, while BOPO and inflation have a significant negative effect on ROA. These results highlight the need for the Bank to enhance operational cost efficiency, improve financing performance, control inflation, and effectively leverage economic growth momentum to increase profitability in the future.
