IMPLEMENTING INTEGRATIVE DATA ANALYSIS APPROACH FOR PROCESS OPTIMISATION IN SMES
The paper highlights the challenges small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) face in implementing digital technologies for process optimisation, mainly due to limitations in resources and inadequate standardised solutions, and introduces an integrative data analytical methodological framework, combining motion tracking technology and video analysis methods, to analyse non-standardised processes in SMEs. The application of this approach is illustrated using a case study in a bakery, identifying considerable inefficiencies related to movement, manual work, bending, and lifting activities. By leveraging the use of motion sensors in combination with AI, this study provides SMEs a cost-effective and scalable approach for improving operational efficiency and promoting workplace ergonomics. The results highlight the importance of incremental improvements in tackling inefficiencies, thereby enabling sustainable development and competitiveness for SMEs.
