Sterically directed, site-preferential selenization of discrete copper sulfide nanoclusters

Site-preferential selenization of [Cu 12 S 6 ] nanoclusters arises from differentiated steric environments of apical and equatorial sites. This phenomenon is observed by X-ray crystallography and VT-NMR spectroscopy, and is supported by DFT calculations.
