Mapping woody vegetation in Cimișlia district using the ESA/WorldCover v200 map
The present study aims to evaluate the potential of using remote sensing data for the identification and mapping of woody vegetation in the Cimișlia district, using the global map ESA/WorldCover 2021 v200. Through this approach, the aim was to delimit the areas covered with woody vegetation and analyze their distribution according to the 1st level administrative-territorial units of the district. The results obtained indicate the current distribution of woody vegetation and can constitute a useful support for local authorities in the decision-making process regarding the management and expansion of these areas.
