DRAWBACKS OF USING SMART METERS OF ACCURACY CLASS 0.2S, PHASE CURRENT 1 A, AND PHASE VOLTAGE 58 V IN HIGH-VOLTAGE STATIONS THAT DISPLAY SECONDARY ELECTRICAL ENERGY WITH A RESOLUTION OF THREE DECIMAL PLACES

The first disadvantage of using the meters from the title of this paper is the reading of secondary electrical energy on the meter screen, which is key data for electricity billing. The second disadvantage is that the energy read will contain an additional error, noticeable when calculating technical energy losses in the elements of the electric power transmission system. The third disadvantage is the increase in time and cost of verifying meters after January 1, 2017, especially in cases where they cannot operate in test mode with a resolution greater than three decimal places. The instruction of the Directorate for Measures and Precious Metals will be discussed, with the help of which, after more than 4.5 years, the time for checking the active energy register of these meters was reduced by 2.5 times, as well as why it is still too long. This paper will propose ways to address the four thoroughly analysed shortcomings of using smart meters from its title.
