Analysis of research hotspots and trends of Internet of Things based on CiteSpace

With the development of artificial intelligence technology and information technology, Internet of Things (IOT) technology has deeply combined sensing devices with intelligent algorithms, and the market size of IOT devices involved has reached trillions of dollars, which has attracted much attention from academia and industry. Therefore, this study explores the development trend and characteristics of IOT, and uses CiteSpace software to visualize IOT-related literature from 2016 to 2025, in order to visualize IOT hot spots and discover the development focus of IOT in the future. The research is divided into three categories through 1) cluster analysis: review (summary language), technology and industry application. The review (summary language) hot spots are #0 systematic literature review, #1 recent advancement #4 visual review, technology hot spots are #2 Systematic Review, #6 machine learning, #7 delay tolerant network, #9 security measurement, and industry application hot spots are #3 building construction industry, #5 civil engineering infrastructure ; 2) from the time dimension analysis development, IoT research hot spots have undergone three dimensions of evolution, namely 2016-2018, 2018-2020 and 2020 to date. In 2016-2018, the research hot spots were #0 Systematic literature review, #2 Systematic Review, #6 machine learning; In 2018-2020, the research hotspots are concentrated in #0 systematic literature review, #1 recent advancement, #2 Systematic Review, # 9 security measurement, #10 blockchain - federated learning fusion ; After 2020, almost every keyword currently clustered is involved.
