Research on the Interface Design of Shopping Apps for the Elderly Based on the KANO Model
With the acceleration of the aging society and the growth of the demand for digital products for the elderly, the interface design of shopping apps affects the user experience of the elderly. However, the existing apps are mostly aimed at young users and do not fully consider the needs of the elderly. Based on the KANO model, this study explores the key elements of age-appropriate shopping APP interface design to improve the satisfaction of elderly users. Through questionnaires and in-depth interviews, the needs of elderly users for interface functions were collected, and the functional attributes were classified by the KANO model. The study found that font amplification, voice assistant, and one-click customer service are essential needs. Personalized recommendation and concise navigation are expected needs; Emotional interaction design is a charismatic demand. The results show that the interface design based on the KANO model can identify the core needs of elderly users, and the user experience can be improved by prioritizing the essential and desired functions. This study provides theoretical and practical guidance for the design of age-appropriate apps to help bridge the “digital divide”.
