Vector Space Decoupling and Negative-Sequence Component-Based Fault-Tolerant MPC for DTP- PMSMS

Open-circuit faults are one of the most common failures in dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (DTP-PMSM) systems. However, current research on multi-phase open-circuit fault-tolerant control (FTC) remains limited. When multi-phase open-circuit faults occur, the coupling between the fundamental wave plane and harmonic plane intensifies significantly, making conventional FTC strategies challenging to achieve high-precision control. This paper proposes a fault-tolerant control strategy based on dual-vector model predictive control (MPC). The MPC is employed to regulate post-fault currents decomposed into positive and negative sequence components. Additionally, an offline parameter search method is introduced to address control accuracy degradation caused by parameter mismatch after multi-phase open-circuit faults, thereby enhancing system robustness and dynamic performance while simplifying the traditional PI-based control topology. Finally, simulation studies are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
