Comparative Analysis of 1.5T and 3.0T MR-HSG for Tubal Imaging in Female Infertility: A Prospective Study
Motivation: Current methods for evaluating fallopian tube patency have limitations. MR-HSG is a non-invasive alternative. A direct comparison between 1.5T and 3.0T MR-HSG is lacking. Goal(s): Compare tubal image quality between 1.5T and 3.0T MR-HSG, and assess whether thin-slab MIP offers advantages over subtraction imaging at 3.0T. Approach: 63 female infertility patients with 1.5T or 3.0T MR-HSG were included. Image quality was evaluated and the visualization of the tubal interstitial and isthmic segments between 3.0T subtraction and thin-slab MIP images were compared. Results: 3.0T MR-HSG showed better image quality compared to 1.5T, and thin-slab MIP improved visualization over subtraction. Impact: 3.0T MR-HSG with thin-slab MIP reconstruction can improve the assessment of tubal patency, potentially serving as a one-stop imaging solution for female infertility evaluation.
