Delay-Doppler Domain Channel Characterization and Modeling in High-Speed Railway Scenarios
With the deepening research into next-generation wireless communication systems, such as orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS) modulation, accurate delay-Doppler (DD) domain channel models have become crucial, especially in highspeed mobility scenarios. This paper conducts a detailed DD domain channel characteristic analysis and modeling based on measured channel data collected in a high-speed railway (HSR) scenario in China. We first introduce the measurement settings and the data preprocessing methods. Then, we analyze the DD Domain channel’s quasi-stationarity and evaluate the stationarity time. Within the stationary time, we extract the dominate channel path components associated with their delays, Doppler shifts, and power. Finally, we analyze the power variation characteristics of multipath components (MPC) and provide the DD domain channel model’s power distribution in high-speed railway rural scenarios. This paper could provide theoretical basis and channel model support for the design and performance evaluation of wireless communication systems in HSR scenarios, particularly for DD domain-based OTFS systems.
