Free Piston Linear Generator Rectification Strategy Based on Active

This paper focuses on the research of the Free Piston Linear Generator (FPLG), aiming to promote its application in hybrid and range-extended electric vehicles. The nonlinear motion of the FPLG's piston leads to severe harmonic distortion in the induced voltage, with the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) exceeding, posing challenges to ensuring power quality. The topology of the rectifier conversion system is refined in this paper, and a control approach that combines Active Disturbance Rejection Control and Sequential Model Predictive Control, namely ADRC - SMPC, is utilized. When sudden changes in load or voltage occur, ADRC - SMPC is more robust than the traditional dual - loop proportional-integral (PI) control. It can effectively cut down voltage overshoot and lower the switching frequency. Its hierarchical optimization structure balances dynamic response and computational efficiency. The results indicate that a solution has been provided for the electrical energy storage of free generators. Meanwhile, it also offers a reference for other applications related to improving power quality.
