Frequency Support Control of Wind Turbines Based on Frequency Response Analysis
Frequency support of wind turbines (WTs) is of great significance for ensuring frequency safety of power systems with a high wind power penetration level. Reasonable parameter setting greatly affects the effect of frequency support control. This paper proposes a frequency support control of WTs based on frequency response analysis. Firstly, from the perspective of analyzing frequency response, the power dynamic of WTs is designed and analytical expression of key indicators of frequency response is derived. Then, an optimization problem is constructed to maximize frequency nadir and solved to obtain control parameters of WTs. Finally, simulation results show that the frequency response of the proposed strategy is better than that of the traditional strategy, which verifies the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed strategy.
