Application of Plasma Jet Based on Dielectric Barrier Discharge Principle for Seed Germination Enhancement
The study presents the plasma jet as a source of reactive species and other physical factors for improvement of seed germination rates. The plasma jet was generated based on the principle of dielectric barrier discharge. The discharge system was driven by a high frequency power supply. The output of power supply has been modulated by a Neon Sign Transformer. The study shows the electrical characteristics of the jet. Furthermore, the experimental results showed that plasma treatments had positive effects on seed germination and seedling growth.
