Deep Checkout System

In the paper, the deep checkout system will be proposed to have a quick checkout at the supermarket. We use the trained YOLOv5 model to detect barcode areas and develop a series of image processing techniques to recognize all the barcodes and calculate the price of all the goods. The simulation results indicate the proposed checkout system can identify the barcode of all the goods and calculate the total price at a time correctly.

Abstract

In the paper, the deep checkout system will be proposed to have a quick checkout at the supermarket. We use the trained YOLOv5 model to detect barcode areas and develop a series of image processing techniques to recognize all the barcodes and calculate the price of all the goods. The simulation results indicate the proposed checkout system can identify the barcode of all the goods and calculate the total price at a time correctly.
