A Fast Power Sharing Method for Wind Farms Participating in Primary Frequency Regulation

Affected by wind speed variations, the rotor kinetic energy of different wind turbines (WTs) within a wind farm is unequal. To maximize the utilization of rotor kinetic energy for primary frequency regulation, existing research focuses on coordinated control based on the remaining rotor kinetic energy of turbines, while ensuring accurate tracking of power command. This paper proposes a fast power sharing method for wind farms participating in primary frequency regulation to improve the flexibility of power command response further. The method decouples power command tracking from WTs coordination, ensuring the consistency of the ratios of remaining rotor kinetic energy among WTs under fast tracking of power command. Simulation results verify the superiority of the proposed method in power response accuracy and reserved energy utilization.
