Design and Implementation of Clutter Suppression Algorithms for Integrated Sensing and Communication

Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) technology is viewed as a key feature of the development of the sixth generation (6G) wireless communication system. However, traditional moving target indication (MTI) clutter suppression algorithms in ISAC systems suffer from significantly degraded performance in complex environments due to the modulation effects of communication signals. In this paper, we propose a second-order recursive MTI filter design. We first study the relationship among feedback coefficients, improvement factors, and clutter suppression performance in first-order and second-order recursive MTI filters. Then we apply zero-pole analysis for parameter optimization, enhancing clutter suppression and achieving a more stable system. Simulation results demonstrate that the designed filter effectively suppresses clutter. Finally, the filter algorithm was successfully implemented on an FPGA and validated through real-world field testing.
