Active Power Decoupling Control Based on Fully-Actuated System Approach for Single-Stage AC-DC Converters

This paper proposes a novel nonlinear controller based on the fully-actuated system (FAS) approach to enhance power decoupling capability and dynamic response performance in single-stage AC-DC converters with reduced buffer capacitance. The controller employs cooperative control of the ac and dc ports. At the ac port, a cycle-by-cycle input rectification controller with an improved modulation strategy ensures accurate input current tracking with fast dynamic response by eliminating reliance on slow error feedback loops. At the dc port, a nonlinear robust control is developed based on an uncertain FAS model, which accounts for load variations and parameter uncertainties, enabling precise and fast output regulation under both CCM and DCM. Simulation results validate the robustness and superior steady-state and transient performance of the proposed control method.
