Towards Green Mobility: A Scenario for a Renewable and Storage-Integrated EV Charging Station in Vietnam
As countries transition toward sustainable energy systems, renewable and storage-integrated solutions are becoming increasingly important. In line with Vietnam's net-zero commitment by 2050, this study conducts a technoeconomic assessment of a hybrid energy system for an electric vehicle (EV) charging station located at a highway rest stop. The proposed system integrates photovoltaic (PV) modules, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and a grid connection. Using HOMER Grid simulation software, multiple system configurations are simulated and optimized based on key technical and financial indicators. The results demonstrate the viability of this integrated approach in reducing dependence on the national grid, lowering energy costs, and supporting Vietnam's clean energy and e-mobility goals.
