Design of a New Pump-Suction Surface Cleaning Robot

Protecting surface water resources is a critical aspect of environmental conservation and an urgent global challenge. In response to the issue of floating debris on water surfaces, this paper proposes a novel design for a pump-suction-based surface cleaning robot, specifically targeting small water areas. Building upon existing technologies, the robot utilizes a pump to generate negative pressure, creating a stable water flow that drives surrounding debris into the collection screen, enabling efficient and omnidirectional debris collection. The study elaborates on the structural design, working principles, and key components of the robot. A motion control algorithm based on trajectory planning and tracking is proposed to simulate the robot's movement and debris collection process. Additionally, an object segmentation algorithm is trained and validated through physical experiments. The experimental results demonstrate that the robot effectively achieves its intended functionality, providing a practical solution for surface water cleaning.
