Synthetic Inertial Control for Fast Frequency Response of Photovoltaic Power Generation Based on Load Shedding

Traditionally, photovoltaic (PV) power generation systems operate in the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) mode, aiming to maximize energy output. However, this mode typically does not involve regulation of grid frequency, meaning the system cannot provide the necessary active power support during frequency fluctuations. With the increasing penetration of photovoltaic energy in the power mix, this limitation has significantly impacted the safety and stability of the grid. In scenarios with a high proportion of renewable energy integration, it may even exacerbate frequency volatility issues. Therefore, to ensure the stable operation of the power system, new energy equipment such as photovoltaics needs to have the capability to respond to grid frequency changes, actively participating in frequency regulation and contributing to the development of a more flexible and reliable modern power system.
