Repetitive Locking Control and Mechanical Characteristics Analysis of High-Speed Magnetically Suspended Rotor

In order to realize high quality and repeatable locking/releasing of high-speed magnetic suspension rotor in medium sized magnetically suspended control moment gyro (MSCMG), considering constraints such as overall size and mass, a repeatable locking/releasing device with large stroke and large locking torque is designed by controlling the worm gear motion pair through a motor. Firstly, a mechanical model of cylindrical roller bearings in a locked state was established, and the locking device parameters were designed based on material strength and mechanical environment constraints; Secondly, the locking performance and mechanical characteristics of the high-speed magnetically suspended flywheel rotor were analyzed under typical operating conditions; Finally, a prototype of the locking device was developed and ground performance testing and vibration mechanical environment testing were conducted. The analysis and experimental results show that the developed small locking device not only has the advantages of light weight, large locking force, large axial stroke, and good repeatability, but also has good spatial environment adaptability, which can effectively support the space application of medium-sized MSCMG.
