A New mmWave Communication Optimization Scheme for Low-Altitude NLOS Environments with Multiple Reflect-Arrays
Since the millimetre wave (mmWave) has advantages of fast transmission rates and strong directionality, it is a potential solution to high-speed low-altitude communication. However, due to its near-optical transmission property, mmWave generally cannot penetrate obstacles, degrading communication quality in non-line-of-sight (NLOS) environments. In this paper, we propose a new path-energy-time (PET) joint optimization scheme for low-altitude mmWave communication with multiple reflect-arrays. We establish a joint optimization model, in which an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) can establish robust mmWave connections with multiple reflect-arrays and mobile receivers. Based on the model, we propose a PET collaborative algorithm to optimize the mmWave signal transmission. The algorithm can combine the greedy-based signal propagation path selection, the Lagrange Multiplier-Based transmission energy distribution, with the dynamic programming-based signal receiving time allocation. Simulation results show that the proposed PET joint optimization scheme can significantly increase the mmWave channel gains.
