Multi-Satellite Frameless Coordinated Transmission for Mission Critical Communications

Satellite-integrated Internet can utilize multi-satellite coordinated transmission to provide direct satellite-to-device connectivity, which is regarded as a key enabler for emergency transmission. In this paper, we propose a multi-satellite frameless coordinated-transmission (MFC) scheme for mission critical communications, where the transmission probability and frame length are determined at ground terminal (GT) to maximize packet recovery rate (PRR) and throughput. Furthermore, we improve the PRR and throughput of our MFC scheme in the frame-asynchronous scenario via a sliding window decoder. The theoretical expressions of PRR and throughput are derived in both frame-synchronous and asynchronous scenarios, and the simulation results validate the accuracy of our theoretical analysis.
