Non-Dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm Optimization Design of a Compact Broadband Asymmetric Dual Hollow Core Antiresonant Fiber Mode Converter

This paper proposes a mode converter design based on an asymmetric dual hollow core antiresonant fiber (ADHC-ARF), which is applicable to high-capacity mode-division multiplexing (MDM) communication systems using hollow-core fibers (HCFs). To improve the design efficiency of the ADHC-ARF, a non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm is employed for performance optimization. The resulting mode converter achieves a compact length of 4.7 mm and a bandwidth of 630 nm, covering the E, S, C, L, and U bands. The optimization process completes in as few as 4 iterations and identifies key structural parameters that affect device performance from large datasets. This approach provides guidance for the optimization of HCF-based devices and can also be applied to the design of components such as couplers and wavelength division multiplexers.
