Enhancement of Levofloxacin Electrochemical Sensor Sensitivity on Nanosized Boron-Doped Diamond-Based Screen-Printed Electrode
Excessive use of levofloxacin (LEV) antibiotics causes resistance, which leads to morbidity. Furthermore, it is necessary to use LEV measurement analysis techniques using effective and efficient methods. The LEV analysis method used in this study was the electrochemical method using nanosized boron-doped diamond modified on screen-printed electrode (SPE-BDDNP). The square wave voltammetry was used in LEV electrochemical measurements because it has a high sensitivity compared to other methods. LEV was oxidized in a phosphate buffer solution at pH 6.5. The limit of detection value for LEV detection on SPE-BDDNP was 2.24 μM and the limit of quantitation was 7.5 μM, in which this value is much lower compared to reported work on polycrystalline boron-doped diamond. The relative standard deviation obtained from using the SPE-BDDNP was 1.94%. The % recovery results with SPE-BDDNP on drugs, canned milk, and wastewater were in the range of 90%–105%. Thus, the modified electrode produced high-sensitivity measurements and can be applied for real samples application.
