A Four-Switches Wide-Output-Voltage PFC With Low Voltage Stress and Continuous Input–Output Currents

For applications with wide dc voltage loads, such as electric vehicles, traditional power factor correction (PFC) topologies fail to achieve a balance between a wide voltage range and low voltage stress. This letter proposes a four-switch PFC rectifier with an output voltage range of 48–400 V, exceeding eight times. In addition, the voltage stress on switching components is only the output voltage, which is significantly lower than existing wide dc voltage topologies. Both input and output currents are continuous, eliminating the need for large input and output filters. The working principle, voltage gain, and voltage stress are analyzed. Finally, a 400-W prototype validates the topology’s effectiveness, achieving a peak efficiency of 97.25%.
