Design of a Dual-Band Tri-Port Tag for Near-Field Energy Harvesting and Far-Field SWIPT

This paper presents a novel simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) system featuring a receiving tag equipped with a cross-polarized antenna and a near-field coil for wireless power transfer (WPT).The proposed tag integrates a dual-fed antenna, combining coaxial and microstrip feeding techniques, operating in the 2.4 GHz band for cross-polarized data communication and far-field energy harvesting capabilities.Simultaneously, a dedicated coil is integrated in the same tag for near-field power transfer working at 13.56 MHz.This hybrid approach enables efficient energy harvesting (EH) while maintaining robust data communication. The system is optimized for applications in the fields of Internet of Things (IoT), radio frequency identification (RFID), and wireless sensor networks (WSN), providing a compact and efficient solution for simultaneous power and data transfer.Simulation results are reported to validate the system's performance in indoor environments.
