Heterogeneous Subcarrier Aggregation Based Throughput Maximization Approach for Uplink Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access
With the continuous development of $\mathbf{5 G}$ communication technologies, Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) technology has been widely applied to enhance spectral efficiency. Furthermore, the availability of heterogeneous subcarriers in 5G with varying bandwidths offers opportunities for improved resource utilization. As physical resource blocks (PRBs), which consist of multiple subcarriers, serve as the fundamental building blocks of the spectrum, how to allocate PRBs effectively has emerged as a significant challenge. This paper formulates an optimization problem encompassing PRB allocation, user clustering, and power optimization to maximize uplink NOMA throughput by leveraging heterogeneous subcarrier aggregation. We design a Communication Resource Scheduling algorithm based on Heterogeneous Subcarrier Aggregation (CRS-HSA) for scenarios with limited spectrum resources. Specifically, an uplink NOMA clustering algorithm and the Lagrange multiplier method based power optimization are proposed to tackle this problem. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed CRS-HSA scheme can achieve significant throughput gains.
