Diaphragmatic Injury: A Hidden Injury Following Trauma
Blunt diaphragmatic rupture (BDR) is a rare but critical injury often mistaken for tension pneumothorax. In a recent case, a 50-year-old male initially diagnosed with tension pneumothorax was later found to have BDR.This highlights the diagnostic challenge and underscores the importance of considering BDR in patients with acute respiratory distress posttrauma.Prompt recognition and evaluation are vital to prevent treatment delays and improve outcomes.
